Termination and Bias jumpers for RS485 (Modbus RTU) on Control Solutions, Inc. Babel Buster BB2-7010 (or BB2-6010)

WARNING: Always remove power from device before opening it! This is for the protection of the device. You will not be harmed by the low voltage present, but you may cause damage or destruction of the device by opening it with power connected.

Note: Termination should only be applied at ends of RS485 link. Line bias, if used, should only be applied one place on the link.



The shunts (or jumpers) are labeled ‘Master’ and ‘Slave’ for line bias. Line bias is ‘on’ in the Master position. Typically line bias will be applied at the Master and nowhere else on the network. The shunt for termination has a white outline in the ‘on’ position. Termination should be ‘on’ at both ends, but only the ends, of the network.
